Hello! I’m the director of operations for Pine Island Camp, a registered Maine guide, and a freelance writer and editor.
Traveling along trails that weave through forests, over mountains, and across communities has profoundly shaped my life. I love setting out under my own power, embracing the challenges of terrain and weather, and sleeping on the ground in remote places far from modern comforts. The problem-solving, resilience, and teamwork these trips demand have brought me closer to family and friends and enriched my life beyond measure.
I document many of these experiences to share the joy they bring me and to inspire others to explore and protect these extraordinary places. My work has been featured online and in print by a variety of outdoor organizations, including Adventure Cycling Association, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Eastern Mountain Sports. A collection of my published essays and articles can be found here.
